Gov. Otu Gives Ukelle Nation Hope, Say His Administration Will Listen To Them

The Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu has assured Ukelle Nation that his administration will listen to them.

Gov. Otu who took to social media to express his commitment to the development of Ukelle Nation, a people that have been lamenting about government neglect. 

He posted: “A few days ago, I had an interface with your leadership in my office in Calabar and yesterday I embarked on a long journey through the Ukelle road to have a first hand feel of the situation.

“I wish to reiterate our desire to address the lingering issue of the bad road network and other critical social amenities that will improve living standards of the entire Ukelle people.

“With God on our side and your support, we will deliver.”

Relatively, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche confirmed the pledge to complete the 39 km Cross River-Benue border road. 

Mr. Ogbeche in his release stated that Otu met with the Clan Head of Wanokom, Chief Denis Ugede and other chiefs in his palace, and assured of the commencement of the road construction in the dry season.

“I have been informed that successive administrations have carried out the same inspections and never fulfilled the promises made, but be rest assured that this will be the final inspection by state government officials and we are definitely going to complete the construction of this road project.

“The traffic gridlock faced by the people of Ukelle in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State will soon come to pass, Governor Bassey Otu has assured.

Federal Government is the one fixing the road following the intervention of Sen. Jarigbe Agom.
