27 years after the death of Publisher of Newswatch, Dele Giwa, through a letter bomb, a similar incident occurred Monday under the Festac link bridge in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos, which left chairman of the local Dredgers Association dead.

Although there were different versions as to how the late Chief Oladele Pius was killed, Vanguard reliably gathered that he was handed a letter by an unknown person at about 11am,shortly after he resumed work.

Barely had the unknown visitor left than the Chief Oladele attempted to open the letter, only for an explosion which rocked the entire area occurred, killing him on the spot.
