Crossriverwatch can authoritatively report that Senator Liyel Imoke, the Cross River State Governor, who has been away to America for medical treatment for an disclosed ailment has just returned to the country.
Former Minister of Information, John Odey, confirmed to PREMIUM TIMES some minutes ago that Mr. Imoke who has been away today for 115 days, arrived Lagos from the United States this evening and is being expected in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, on Saturday.
“I can confirm that the governor has returned,” Mr. Odey, one of Mr. Imoke’s closest political associates was quoted as saying. “We are all here waiting to receive him. We have been in touch with him while he was undergoing treatment. But we are more than excited to have him back.” Odey said.
A crossriverwatch reporter who is still presently at the Ikoyi home of Senator Imoke says the governor is back but visitors are still been restricted from seeing him.
“Family members and a few of the associates who are here in the house are quite excited and in a jubilant mood about the governor’s return. A source here says the governor is not fully recovered but he is expected to continue his treatment here in Nigeria. We have also been told that journalists will not be allowed to see him this night unless tomorrow before his departure for Calabar”.
