Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke has officially resumed work after a 3 month vacation.
Imoke, who returned to the country on Friday, has in compliance with the provisions of the Constitution, written to the House of Assembly, notifying the state lawmakers of his return.
The Governor is expected to chair the Exco meeting today.
There are also very strong speculations that the governor will change most of his cabinet members as he resumes work but that is not expected to happen in today’s meeting.
A very reliable top administration official hinted crossriverwatch that “That is paramount on his mind. And it should be expected. His absence revealed a lot of things and the level of commitment and loyalty of some of the appointees and there is a need to clear the stable and rejuvenate the Exco for better performance. So, the cabinet will wear a new face not long from now but certainly not after today’s meeting”
Meanwhile, the governor has congratulated former President Olusegun Obasanjo on his 76th birthday.
Imoke in a statement issued in Calabar Tuesday described Obasanjo as the father of modern Nigeria.
He said the former President deserves all the commendation and goodwill messages he is getting given his role in ensuring the unity and growth of the country and his rich contribution to our democratic process.
