The All Progressives Congress APC, stakeholders meeting of the North and Central Senatorial Districts of Cross River State has been scheduled to hold on Saturday May 18, 2013 at No. 24 Okoi Obimbang Street, Biko Biko, Ugep Town in Yakurr Local Government.

In a notice of invitation made available to crossriverwatch, the meeting is expected to set modalities for the effective take off the party in the state.

Convener of the meeting, Barrister Okoi Obono Obla told crossriverwatch that the meeting will not welcome deserters from PDP who are merely looking for a platform to contest elections and decamp after winning.

“There is a realignment of political forces going on in the country and Cross River State is part of Nigeria. The PDP has held down this country with bad governance for too long and the time to dislodge the party is now. All the progressive forces in Cross River State are coming together to strategize on how that can be achieved.

“The meeting will not welcome PDP agents who because they were denied tickets in their party now want to look for
alternative platforms to contest elections and decamp afterwards. We are sincere about the change we seek for our people and we want only genuine and concerned progressives who are perturbed by the downward slide that the PDP has taken our state to come and join hands with us so we can plan how to give purposeful leadership to our people”. He said.
