NDLEA Arrest 30 Drug Pushers in Calabar South

In a bid to clean up notorious hide outs in Calabar South, the Cross River State command of the National Drug law Enforcement Agency on Friday announced the success of their Thursday raids in parts of Calabar South Local Government with the arrest of thirty narcotic drug peddlers in a special operation codenamed “Operation Tiger”.

Mr. Kayode Adeniyi, the State Commandant of the agency stated this while giving a breakdown of the activities of the command to mark the World Drug Free day.

The Commandant said that between January 2013 till date, the State Command had arrested 115 suspects stressing that out of the total number, 101 were male while 14 females were apprehended for abusing or trading on illegal drugs.

According to him, 38 persons have been charged to Court with 16 persons convicted stressing that out of the total number of convictions, 14 convict were males while 2 were females.

He called on religious bodies, individuals, groups and well meaning Nigerians to assist the Agency in the fight against drug usage in our society as no “society can achieve meaningful development when its youth who ought to form the bulk of the nation’s work force become addicted to hard drugs”.

    please I want drugs enforcement agency to come to our aid here in etak ikot street ikot omin 8miles calabar there is a young boy who is parading selling cocane in our area bringing in strange men, guys, all this people have started operation in our area please come and help us thanks
