Mr. Eddy Achi, the Chairman of People’s Democratic Party PDP Yala Chapter, has called on all members of the party in the local government area to rally round the party’s candidates in the coming September 21 council elections in the state.
Mr. Achi who along with the PDP chairmanship candidate for the area Mr. Mike Usibe addressed an enlarged meeting of party members, councilors, chairman and ward executive officials in Okpoma recently called on aspirants who were not given the party’s ticket to contest for the post of councilor or chairman not to lose faith in the party because the PDP is a large umbrella that can accommodate everyone.
According to him no one would be left out in the scheme of things when the party wins the election in September.”This is not going to be winner takes all situation, so we should all join hands in our wards and ensure that the party wins the election and I can assure you that we shall all celebrate together”.
He said it is not possible to give tickets to everyone who aspired hence the need to pick one person in each ward and one person as chairmanship candidate. “That is not to say those who were not selected are not qualified or are less party members”.
Responding, the members who were at the meeting indicated their commitment to work towards the party’s success come September 21.
