Crowds on Thursday morning gathered to behold the scene of a deadly auto crash by an Audi car along Marian road which left the driver and occupants with severe injuries.
The Audi car with registration number AR 60 BJE was said to be taking commuters without having been formally registered with the Department of Public Transportation DOPT, and one of the seven franchisees.
“The car was taking passengers along Marian road as early as 5am and at about 6am this morning he was accosted by DOPT boys at the Rabana Junction and a struggle ensued between the driver and the boys and one of them jumped into the car and started to wrestle the
steering with the driver while the car was on speed and when they got here the car went out of control and crashed on the fence” Okor, a resident of 80 Marian road told CrossRiverWatch.
The crash brought down the perimeter fence of 80 Marian Road that houses the signature boutique causing the walls to collapse on the car leaving it badly dented and the occupants with severe injuries.
According to Okor, the driver and the passengers were rushed to the nearby General Hospital for medical attention. “As at the time they left here, no one had died but they all had severe injuries” Okor said.
