A former National Director of Publicity of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, and strong man of Cross River politics, Barrister Venatius Ikem has described President Jonathan as being naive and over protective of the party’s national Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.

Mr. Ikem who has also been Director of the IBB Campaign Organization and two time Commissioner in Cross River State admonished the President to either sacrifice Tukur to move on or be prepared to go down with the chairman.

In a post on his facebook wall today, Mr. Ikem said “President Jonathan is simply naive in over protecting Tukur. The game is up. There comes a time every leader must know when to sacrifice one of his own to be able to move on. That time is now or he may go down with him”.

It will be recalled that the Chairmanship of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur has seen the ruling party suffering one of its greatest internal crises with the factionalization of the party by the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abukakar and seven PDP governors who are now being reportedly backed by forty nine PDP Senators.

While members of the new faction are gunning for Tukur’s removal as chairman of the party, the President’s camp insists that the chairman must stay on.
