An auto accident along Ikom Calabar road on Friday claimed the lives of 12 persons including three students of the Cross River College of Education, Akamkpa.
The accident occurred close to an army check point at Awi, Akamkpa between a passenger bus and a Toyota Sienna car.

Four people in the Siena car died instantly, four people in the bus also died. Three of the dead where confirmed to be students of the Cross River College of Education, Akamkpa while four injured people were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
The other victims who remained trapped in the vehicles were burnt beyond recognition including the husband of the Emeritus Deputy Editor in Chief of NUCJ, Akamkpa who just wedded.
