President Jonathan was today in Calabar embarrassed as electricity blackout blanked out proceedings for some minutes while he was called up to address Cross Riverians by the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu.
After being cheered with loud and resounding ecstasy having being called up to address the people of Cross River State directly for the first time since he assumed office, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was humiliated as electric supply to the Public Address System, PAS and all other electronics appliances on the stage at the U.J. Esuene stadium in went out for 6 minutes.
While the drummers and the trumpeters continued with their manual production of sound, the President had to wait until power was restored before he could continue with his address.
Some of the residents who reacted to the development said it was a good sign for the President to know how serious the power shortage situation is around the country.
