The Bakassi Local Government Council on Sunday held a thanksgiving service at the Presbyterian Church, Ekpri-Ikang.
The Chairman of the local government, Mrs. Edisua Usang Iso while speaking said the thanksgiving is an avenue for them as servants of the people to also reach out in benevolence.
Edisua urged the participants and beneficiaries to pray for the peace and well being of the country, state and local government in particular.
As part of the program to mark the thanksgiving service, aged people, widows and people with disability, received some gift items with undisclosed amount of cash.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Etim Okon, who is virtually impaired, said I have never felt this loved, may God use this act of kindness to change the Bakassi story.
The Chairman was accompanied by members of the LG legislative council, staff of the council and Hon. Dominic Okon, Calabar Municipality Council Chairman.
