“This is the reason you saw me at campaign grounds, God knows that it was not for my self-benefit. This is the road to my home town, Ukelle, (in) Yala Local Government area of Cross River state.

“No time for the blame game, just keep sharing this post until it gets to only God knows where.

“I slept on my way to Ukelle from Asaba, a four hour journey turned into a whole day’s journey.”

Those are the exact words of 27 Year old Lilian Igbang, a native of Ukelle in Yala LGA in northern Cross River State, lamenting the terrible state of the only road leading to her home town.

The road links several economic hubs around that axis like Yahe, Ebo, Ezekwe, Wanokom, Wanikade, Wanihem and even Oju in neighboring Benue state but sadly, it has been neglected by all tiers of government.

The protest on her timeline over the neglect of the road to her hometown is still generating numerous comments on the thread by concerned citizens who are appealing to government to consider fixing the road.

Yala LGA is home to Senator Greg Ngaji, John Odey, former Minister of Environment and Education, Senator Rose Oko, General Anthony Ukpo rtd, Admiral Ogbo, Bishop Joseph Ukpo, immediate past Speaker, Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Larry Odey, State Security Adviser, Jude Ngaji, Julius Okputu, etc.
