The spokesman of the Cross River State Police Command, Mr. Hogan Bassey has confirmed to CrossRiverWatch that gunmen kidnapped Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong Ekpe, brother to the immediate past Director General of the Department of State Services, Ita Ekpenyong, in the early hours of this morning.
Vanguard newspaper earlier quoted a family source to have said, “Several armed men just burst into his house at 4am Friday morning, and whisked him away through a narrow canal.
“The gunmen gained access through the creek and after abducting him, they disappeared through the creeks.”
The incident which took place at the Creek Town, Odukpani, residence of the victim was confirmed to CrossRiverWatch by the Police spokesman for the Cross River State Command, Mr. Hogan Bassey who vowed that the police and other security agencies would ensure that the victim is re-united with the family.
