As part of his constituency empowerment program, the member representing Boki 2 State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Hilary Bisong, has distributed a total of eight million Naira in gift items, scholarships and financial support to members of his constituency.

The financial windfall was handed out at a town hall meeting held in Boki, Saturday where Hon. Hilary also constituted a Special Advisory Committee headed by Chief Francis Odu Ogbidi to help advise him on how best to meet the expectations of his constituents.

The 15 man Committee which was inaugurated by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG Barrister Tina Agbor, was charged to be transparent and bear the mark of positivity in all their dealings.

Furthermore, Hon. Hilary officially handed over appointment letters to 6 of his personal assistants from the six political wards of his constituency.

He reiterated his pledge of one million naira to the first twenty of his constituents that open an operational business account with the UNICAL micro finance bank Okundi branch.

Speaking at the event, the Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Tina Agbor lauded Hon. Bisong and thanked him for keeping his constituents in mind and called on the people to continue to support him.

She asserted that only by working hard and together can the community grow as she vowed to always be there to support in any way possible in making Boki develop.

On his part, the Chairman of Boki LGA, Hon. Abubakar Ewa while speaking said that Hon. Hilary has started well and can only end well with the support of his constituents.

After throwing his support behind the legislator he reminded those present of the need to begin thinking outside the box and be more creative if they must succeed.

The Commissioner for New City Development, Barrister George Abang Ekpungu who also spoke at the event, expressed happiness with the Constituency 2 representative for having the guts to come back six months after his election to show what he has done and what he intends to do.

He called on the participants not to relent in thinking big and positive for the local government which he promised will soon have something to smile for.

Hon. Hilary while speaking promised to always be by his people for the right reasons and encouraged them to key into his agenda.

As part of the event, his constituency office of three rooms and a conference room was also commissioned.
