Photographers in Calabar, the Cross River State capital who participated in the photo walk and master class events organized by the Peter Bello Foundation in November 2016 have been certified and awarded in a ceremony held recently.
The Executive Secretary of the foundation, Amanda George said a photography competition tagged “Calabar Unseen” was part of the activities for the photo walk which the foundation organized on November 17, 2016 in collaboration with Nikon Nigeria.
George said a photography master class organized in collaboration with the Nikon Nigeria and the Cross River State Government followed the photo walk competition which saw winners awarded while certificates were presented to attendees of the master class.
The chairman of the occasion, Efa Imoke commended the unity of the master class alumni. He advised them to take photography serious as it is a life skill. Also, He lauded the foundation for the initiative which according to him is the development of capacity in the youths and charged the management to remain focused on what it knows how to do best.
The co-founder of the foundation, Thelma Bello said the platform was a healing process as it has given her many more children after she lost her son, Peter Bello in an helicopter crash at Lagos which inspired the formation of the foundation.
Bello reiterated the foundation’s resolve to develop human capacity in the areas of arts, safety, education and mentoring.
Samuel Iniobong, Taiwo Awede and Etta Elemi were awarded prizes after emerging first, second and third respectively, in the photo walk competition.
