Again Police Rescues Robber From Being Set Ablaze In Calabar South

The suspect (sitting on the floor) being treated by some Police doctors with items recovered from him displayed by the wall.

Men of the Nigeria Police Force, Atakpa division Thursday rescued an alleged armed robber from being set ablaze at Hawkins cemetory Calabar South, Cross River State.

The alleged robber whose name wasn’t gotten by our reporter was said to have been caught red-handed in the act in the early hours of Thursday along Hawkins while carting away with his goods.

After being caught, he was beaten by mob then taken to Hawkins cemetery, beaten again, soaked in fuel ready to be set ablaze before the Police intervened.

According to more information made available to our newsroom, the said suspect who is believed to be in his early 30’s was identified by many as a load carrier every Thursday at Beach market Esierebom.

As at the time of filling this report, he was been treated by a team of police doctors at Atakpa station while some alleged stolen properties in his house have been taken to custody by the Police.
