Senator John Owan Eno, representing Central Senatorial district of Cross River in the Red Chamber has beckoned the Senate to call on the relevant authorities to wade into the boundary crisis between Danare 2 community in Boki Local Government Area and Odam community in the Cameroon Republic.
His words: “Mr. President thank you for this opportunity. I rise to call attention to a very serious security situation that is occurring in my Senatorial district between a community called Danare 2 in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River and Odam community in the Cameroon Republic.
“Sometime in the 7th National Assembly, there were rising tensions between the two countries that led to even the Chiefs of both communities coming to the National Assembly when there was a boundary issue concerning location of two pillars separating both countries.
“As I speak, sometime last week I lost some people, Nigerians from Danare 2 community when there was complete breakdown of peace and security.”
