Silverbird Television and Rhythm FM journalist, Richard Edoki has been selected alongside 9 other professionals by the United States government to participate in its 2017 International Visitors Leadership Program, IVLP a statement obtained by CrossRiverWatch says.
Edoki who hails from Abi local government area of central Cross River State is a News Editor and will join 9 others for a “three weeks program between October 16 and November 3 on the theme; ‘Substance Abuse Prevention and Rehabilitation.”
Mr. Edoki, a graduate of Mass Communication is an Alumni of Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa, a Michael Bloomberg Sholarship Program.
The program is expected to aid participants especially journalists like Mr. Edoki “explore the opportunities in health education, substance abuse and prevention as well as research and development, treatment, care and rehabilitation of substance abusers,” the statement read.
The IVLP, launched in 1940, is “the United States Development Exchange Program that seeks to build mutual understanding between the US and other nations through short-term visits to the United States for current and emerging foreign leaders,” the statement added.
