Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade, his Bayelsa counterpart, Seriake Dickson and Minister for Transport, Rotimi Amaechi have arrived the Convocation grounds of the Cross River University of Technology for the 6th to 10th combined convocation ceremony of the institution.
The national caretaker committee chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Senator Ahmed Markarfi, former Governor Liyel Imoke, Professor Ivara Esu, Senator Rose Oko, Uti J.D Agba, Professor Valentine Alletio among others are also present for the ceremony.
CrossRiverWatch had reported that a total of 7,093 people are to be awarded bachelor’s and post graduate degrees.
6,800 are to be awarded bachelor’s degrees of which 18 bagged first class while 293 are to be awarded post graduate degrees.
Markarfi, Amaechi and Dickson are to be awarded honorary degrees while Uti J.D Agba is to be installed as the second Chancellor of the institution.
As at press time, the citation of Uti Agba’s citation who was born in 1932 and began Primary school at the age of 6, was being read.
