CrossRiverWatch has exclusive photographs of staff of the Calabar Urban Development Authority flogging and manhandling a man who seems to be mentally deranged.
This occurred at about 09:55 Hours at the Uddy King fueling station close to the RCC (Calabar Calabar) roundabout along the Murtala Muhammed highway in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
The CUDA officials driving in a rickety white Toyota bus marked: “ABITRANS Abi Local Govt. Mass Trans” with license plate number: “Cross River XA 361 BKS” could be seen by this reporter beating and manhandling the unknown man whom they dragged into the vehicle and sped off.
CrossRiverWatch gathered that the agency is currently evacuating mentally deranged persons from the streets but a motorist passing by wondered why they did not employ paramedics to handle the evacuation as the treatment was inhumane.
Calls to Mr. Joe-mary Ekeng who heads the authority did not connect as at press time.
