Boki Gangstar War Leaves Policeman Injured, Two Dead

A renewed gang war in Iso Bendeghe community of Boki local government area of central Cross River State on Thursday left no fewer than two people dead and one Policeman critically injured.

The battle is said to be between two major gangs which though as at press time were still unknown but sources say is the Klans Confraternity aka ‘Klansmen’ and the Supreme Vikings Confraternity aka ‘Norsemen’ or ‘Aro Baggars’.

Several houses were also torched in the process as some members of the community are said to have gone into hiding.

The Police Command confirmed the figure weekend reports VANGUARD Newspapers with the Public Relations Officer, Ms. Irene Ugbo maintaining that: “The Police is aware of the incident, it is a cult related issue but by the grace of God, we have been able to deploy our men to make sure the area is calm.”

Ugbo, who is an Assistant Superintendent of Police added that: “As hard as it is, when our men were deployed earlier, they were attacked and one Policeman was shot but he is doing fine, nevertheless, as I am talking to you, the area is calm. Military personnel have also been deployed.”
