By Margaret John

The Managing Partner of the Calabar Hospitality House, Mr. Ekuri Asu has urged the Cross River State Government to stop politicizing issues of unemployment.

Mr. Ekuri made the call on air, while speaking as a guest on “The Dialogue with Agba Jalingo” on Hit 95.9 FM Calabar where he posited that “The Government does not have the capacity to solve the unemployment problem.”

The Managing Partner of the Calabar Hospitality House affirmed that, “Entrepreneurship is the solution to unemployment and it all boils down to having an enabling environment.”

He encouraged the State Government to reduce multiple taxation as a way of encouraging entrepreneurship saying this will contribute to creating an enabling environment to create more jobs in the State.

In conclusion, Mr. Asu stated that “We lack capacity in this part of the world, sometimes, the jobs are available but we lack the people with the right skills.”
