The minority leader of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio has commended the development strides of Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade.
Mr. Akpabio who said he was surprising at the fact Mr. Ayade has been paying salaries and embarking on projects despite the lean resources available made the commendation Friday in Calabar while on an inspection tour of project sites in the state.
“I am amazed that with the lean resources, the state has made giant strides towards industrialization,” Akpabio said.
The projects visited include the Rice city and Garment factory at the Ayade industrial park where he also said that with the efforts of Mr. Ayade, there was no need to think of a change in the administration.
He called on residents to vote Mr. Ayade in the 2019 general elections and scored him high.
The duo accompanied by Ayade’s deputy, Professor Ivara Esu also visited the Calabar International Convention Center (CICC) at the Summit Hills rechristened Senator Liyel Imoke hills by Mr. Ayade.
Mr. Akpabio had earlier attended the birthday church service of Mr. Asuquo Ekpenyong, father of Mr. Ayade’s finance commissioner, Asuquo Ekpenyong Jr. at the Presbyterian church at Eyamba street.
As at press time, Mr. Akpabio was still been taken round the CICC by Mr. Ayade.
