Information reaching our newsroom has it that members of the Law Officers Association of Nigeria (LOAN) Cross River State chapter have just suspended their 21 days old industrial action embarked upon since 2nd July, 2018.
Arising from an emergency general meeting convened by the LOAN leadership and well attended by members at Planet Guest House, Off Clement Ebri Drive, State Housing, Calabar Cross River State, the Law Officers body stated that Government has shown good faith by graciously approving the implementation of the harmonization policy with effect from 1st August, 2018.
Unanimously, the union agreed to urge the State Government to effect actual implementation of the harmonization policy failing which they shall be constrained to resume the strike action after 30 days and without further notice.
The Lawyers further commended the Governor, Senator Ben Ayade for his timely intervention and commitment towards addressing their legitimate demands.
At the time of filing this report, efforts are still ongoing to reach Barrister Eneji Amajama, the State LOAN Chairman for comments.
