The Cross River State House of Assembly has granted approval to the state government to access a credit facility from the Infrastructure Bank under the Federal Government of Nigeria, ‘Move Nigeria’ Scheme.
The loan which is to be collected for the supply of 103 units of Hyundai cars for social support to government appointees, civil servants and other services amounts to NGN756,164,899 was approved on Friday, during plenary.
The legislators in their submissions commended the initiative which according to them, took the interest of those who serve the state in various capacities.
The leader of the Assembly, Honorable Moses Ucheche (PDP Obanliku), in his submission averred that: “It is a good idea that the federal government intends to touch the lives of Nigerians that serve in various capacities. They have seen the need to facilitate those who serve them.”
Also, Honorable Ogana Lukpata (PDP Yala 2) said that the loan if granted, “will bring a sense of belonging and good working environment.”
The House adjourned to Monday, October 22, 2018.
