“When it comes to SME and entrepreneurship in Cross River State, our Government has failed. There is no attention, no program tailored around entrepreneurs to empower them or to take them to the next level.”
The above is an assertion by Mr. Great Ogban, Co-Founder of Funding Desk while on air over the weekend.
Mr. Great pointed out that lack of access to finance, lack of access to market and lack of adequate Government support coupled with lack of mindset orientation and poverty are most of the challenges faced by entrepreneurs of Small and Medium Enterprises in the State.
The Co-Founder Funding Desk, however demur the notion that “Cross River young people are not interested in doing business” stressing that “the environment and lack of motivation are the causes”.
He suggested that “We need to create an environment that is enabling for those who want to do entrepreneurship to find it easy.”
He was on air discussing the topic ” Access to Finance for Cross River Entrepreneurs; Challenges and Opportunities” on “The Dialogue With Agba Jalingo” episode 117.
The program is aired live from the studios of Hit 95.9FM Calabar, Sundays by 6:00pm to 7:00pm.
