BREAKING NEWS: Bekwarra Community Relations Officer Kidnapped, Police Unaware (Updated)

Information just reaching our newsroom has it that the Community Relations Officer (CRO) of Bekwarra, Hon. Mike Ikado has been kidnapped.

According to the anonymous source who informed CrossRiverWatch, “he was kidnapped this morning (Thursday) at about 6:30am and was taken away in his car”.

The source also revealed that “yesterday (Wednesday) night there was robbery close to his house at around 11:28pm.”

Both incidences happened in Abuochiche.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo said, “No such report has gotten to us”.

At the time of filing this report, our newsroom was still establishing contact with his family for further updates.

Meanwhile a security source has informed this reporter that the kidnappers have contacted the family of the victim and are requesting for three million Naira ransom. The source also said the police are trailing the kidnappers.

This report has been updated to correct the name of the kidnap victim. The ealier report had wrongly claimed that Barrister Enamhe Enamhe was kidnapped. We apologize to Barrister Enamhe for any inconvenience that may have caused him.
