Two (name not gotten) have just been reportedly shot dead in Ugep during Obam dance display.

The incident occurred as the 2018 Obam day was on with a procession along Ugep main park when one of the Obam dancers mistakenly fired his gun twice and hit two men.

Pool of blood left on the road.

According to one Mr. James who spoke to our reporter said, “One of the Obam dancers mistakenly shot them, he ran immediately, the Igbo man he shot died at the spot while the other man is in the hospital”.

People running away after the shots were fired.

As at the time of filing this report the man rushed to the hospital later died.

Obam is one of the cultural groups in Ugep by the Akugom, Ikpakapit and the Ketabebe people.

They usually come out once a year in honour of their late Chiefs.
