UPDATED: NJC To Hold Emergency Meeting Tomorrow Over Onnoghen’s Suspension

Information reaching our newsroom indicates that the National Judicial Council (NJC) has summoned an emergency meeting over the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

The emergency meeting CrossRiverWatch gathers was summoned by some members of NJC in accordance with the it’s rules.

The presider of the meeting is unknown because neither Onnoghen, whose suspension has become a subject of controversy, nor Ibrahim Muhammad, the Acting CJN, will be allowed to preside over the meeting.

The meeting which was to hold today (Monday) in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory by 10am has been shifted a day forward (Tuesday).

The NBA Calabar Bar Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Idaka as at the time of filing this report had arrived Abuja for the meeting tomorrow.
