Senator Ndoma Egba To Sponsor 10 Youths To Basic Computer Coding Training

Leader of the 7th Senate and Chairman of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, is giving 10 youths from the central senatorial district of Cross River state a chance to attend a two weeks basic computer coding training in Calabar.

The training which is billed to commence on Monday January 28, 2019 is organized by TechShack, a technology hub operating from Calabar.

Coordinator of the hub told this reporter that the training is targeted at instilling basic coding knowledge in Cross Riverians with a view to preparing them for a digitalized future.

They said among other things that the students will learn basic computer programming skills and master the art of writing PHP, JavaScript, HTML, BootStrap, CSS, MySql programs to solve real world problems.

The two weeks training is self-paced and only require intending participants to have adequate knowledge of secondary school mathematics and exposure to pre-calculus is will also be an added advantage.

About the course:

Basic concepts of computer programming are introduced, starting with the notion of an algorithm.

Emphasis is on developing the ability to write programs to solve practical computational problems.

Topics include:


*Elements of C/C++ programming languages

*Basic data types

*Sequential and conditional execution

*Iterative solutions

*Arrays, matrices and their applications

*Function, sorting and searching

*Elements of string processing

*Introduction to pointers

*Basics of Software Engineering


*File Processing

Learners will read and understand many sample programs, and will have to write several on their own.

This course deals with basic programming, and sets the foundation for solid programming practices for beginners.

The team of instructors are from different parts of the country and resident in Calabar.
