The University of Calabar, as part of activities marking its 32nd convocation ceremony, has outlined some major projects to commission.
Among the projects is the newly completed ICT laboratory which will be named after the Cross River State Governor, Sen. Ben Ayade.
Addressing newsmen the university Vice Chancellor, Prof. Zana Akpagu disclosed that the intention behind the decision to name the laboratory after the State Governor is “in recognition of his contribution in deployment of ICT in governance, not because he is called digital governor.”
Also, as part of the convocation ceremony, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, GCFR (Rtd), His Royal Highness Eze C. I. Ilomuanya, CON and His Excellency Dr. Clement Ebri, former Governor of Cross River State will be awarded with honorary doctorate degree.
