The Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Jones Eteng has called on the people of Obudu to show unconditional support to the Governor who is their son.
The Speaker made the call at the reception in honor of the member representing Obudu State constituency in the 9th Assembly, Hon. Godwin Akwaji which held in Calabar.
His words, “Obudu, Obudu, Obudu, the world must see your support for the Governor who is your son, he needs our support to complete the multiple projects he has initiated in his first tenure. We owe our collective responsibilities to support the realization of his lofty dreams.
“I want to thank Obudu for this great privilege I have to become Speaker today, I’m Speaker today because an Obudu person is Governor. That is why I have to come and show solidarity with you and also thank you. Your member, Hon. Godwin Akwaji has capacity and I’m sure he will give you the desired representation, he is a team player.”
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Martin Orim thanked the people of Obudu for the support saying “Let me thank God for a day like this and also thank you my Obudu people for the overwhelming support you gave your son Senator Ben Ayade and Hon. Godwin Akwaji during the last election, the statistics from the election showed that the votes of Obudu, Yala and Ogoja Local Governments gave the Governor a comfortable win in the last election.”
Mr. Orim used the medium to call for prayers and suggestions that will benefit Cross Riverians instead of peddling falsehood and lambasting the Government. “We are humans not God and so we are subservient to human frailty, and so we need your prayers for us to succeed.
