Coexist Peacefully – Presbyterian Church Of Nigeria Prelate Solicits, Call For Respect Of Citizens’ Rights

The Prelate and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Nzie Nsi Eke, has congratulated Nigerians on celebration of the 59th Independence anniversary of the country.

In a statement to mark the occasion, His Eminence Nsi Eke appealed to all sections of the country feeling aggrieved over the Nigerian project to apply decorum and peaceful disposition to their agitation.

A statement signed on his behalf by the Director of Information and Public Affairs of the Church, Rev. Nnoke Ibe noted that the outpouring of goodwill from around the world on Nigeria’s independence proves the continued significance of Nigeria and her importance in the comity of nations.

The Prelate who is also the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria commended efforts put in place by President Buhari aimed at uprooting the scourge of corruption in all sectors of the Nigerian economy.

According to the Prelate; “I sincerely know that despite her current challenges; the future of Nigeria remains bright and those challenges would soon be surmounted and the nation will move into her destiny of progress and prosperity.”

His Eminence Nzie Nsi Eke called for continued encouragement and support for security agencies in their bid to wipe out insurgency and insecurity in the country.

The foremost Clergyman also called on the Federal Government to secure the unconditional release of Leah Sharibu, the remaining Chibok secondary school girls and hundreds of others still held in the custody of the Boko Haram terrorists.

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria urged Nigerians to remain steadfast and join hands to sincerely fight all forms of corruption, immorality, child and women trafficking, rape, child molestation, violence, and ungodly sexual relationships.

He concluded by urging Government across the 36 States of the country to respect citizens’ rights because it’s key to peaceful coexistence.
