Obudu Killing Update: Suspects Granted Bail, Case Adjourned To April 30

Twenty (20) suspects allegedly involved in the killing of a Community Head and the razing of a building belonging to the Igwo Clan Head (Obudu), Spokesman Agogo due to disagreements emanating from the compensation allegedly paid by the Cross River  State Government for plots of land it claimed to construct a cargo airport are currently being arraigned at the Cross River State Magistrate Court, Moore road.

Our investigation reveals that three (3) charges are preferred against the 20 people arrested but the case is yet to be assigned to a Court by the Chief Magistrate, Rita Marshall.

The suspects arrested from Igwo, Obudu arrived Court at about 9:28am. They were made to wash their hands before proceeding into the Court as part of preventive measures to tackle the deadly COVID-19.

Update

The suspects has just been admitted to bail by Magistrate Idem Echoma of Court 12.

The conditions are yet to be gotten by our newsroom though the case charge number is MC/151C/2020.

It has been adjourned to 30th April, 2020.

We are yet to get their names and other details.
