Grassroot Women Action Congress (GWAC) Ikom has written to the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Ben Ayade demanding for information pertaining to the list of items, as well as the total cost of items that were allocated for distribution to Olulumo ward towards preventing the explosion and spread of the coronavirus in the Ward.
The women in a letter signed by its representatives said the body request the details on person or group of persons, agency and/or members of the distribution Committee.
GWAC revealed that, the request for details about the COVID-19 preventive kits distribution is sequel to the Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000.00) contribution made by the Ikom Local Government Council (of which they are indigenes) towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended, the Freedom of Information Act in particular and other extant laws in the country.
They went on to maintain that Olulumo Ward has not benefited from the distribution.
