Prof. Ameh Dennu Akoh, Returning Officer for the 2020 Cross River State Northern Senatorial District by-election has announced the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) as winner.

In the by-election contested by nine political parties, PDP won with 129, 207 (one hundred and twenty-nine thousand, two hundred and seven) votes while APC’s Joe Agi, SAN was close with 19, 165 (nineteen thousand, one hundred and sixty-five) votes.

Two conflicting judgments by different divisions of the Federal High Court left the PDP with two candidates – Rep. Jarigbe Agom and Dr. Stephen Odey.

On result sheet from a polling unit in Yala and collation centers earlier sighted by CrossRiverWatch did not contain the name of any candidate even though the Returning Officer is said to have announced one of the two.
