CRIMEWatch: Six Policemen, One Soldier Killed In Cross River Attack

Gunmen on Wednesday attacked two checkpoints of the Nigerian Police Force in Obubra Local Government Area killing at least six policemen and a Soldier.

The checkpoints attacked are located in Ofatura and Onyadama communities with two and four policemen killed respectively. Their arms were also carted away.

Amongst the dead officers include a popular Inspector Best Okereke, a native of Imabana community in neighboring Abi Local Government Area whose fingers were chopped off and was shot in the chest.

A soldier who mans another checkpoint was said to have been shot in the hand but died several hours later.

This comes barely a week after four Policemen: Inspector Samuel John with AP. NO 412921, Inspector Abam Otu with AP. NO 179441, Sergeant Abang Ajie with F/NO 477144 and Sergeant Godspower Okoi with F/NO 479139 were shot dead at Idundu axis of Calabar.
