A group under the aegis of Cross River State Youth Success Institute (CRSYSI), have told Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State to stay clear off Cross River issues.
The warning is in connection to the recent spite by the Rivers’ number one citizen where he posited that “I am not a 419 Governor”.
The group dished out the warning in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
The body which said they are not affiliated to any political party neither are they appointees of Government, intimated the press that, as concerned citizens, they are disturbed by continuous “venoms” being spilt out by Governor Nyesom Wike stressing that, “the insult on Cross Riverians is too much”.
The Executive Director of CRSYSI, Ambassador Caleb Ekpenyong further warned that, “Cross Riverians will no longer tolerate such insolence, there must be an end to it.
“In a bid not to appear impertinent, we venture as civil citizens under the guise of Cross River State Youth Success Institute (CRSYSI) and its allied youth organizations and stakeholders to condemn in its entirety the venom, arrogance and campaign of calumny unleashed by Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on the Executive Governor of Cross River State.
“One would ordinarily ignore Governor Wike’s public utterances if it were meant as a corrective program in the effort to build a virile, stable society for the present while forecasting the future in a society beset in the ethos of social questions. Obviously, Wike’s approach is destructive and calculated to snare the Governor, Cross River State and its people”.
Furthermore, they went on to state that, “Although no society is not without its peculiarity, Cross River State cannot be run through the Governor of Rivers State. He has no such authority. Neither has the Constitution made such provision. To think otherwise tantamount to plans of annexation, ambition and parochialism.
“Wilke should be reminded that Ayade is the Executive Governor of Cross River State who enjoys full mandate of the people of the State. Realizing the primary of leadership, it would be said without any equivocation that Ayade’s style is based on his vision and plans for the people based of course on the area already touched by successive administrations. After all, the Ayade leadership in Cross River State has been purposeful and dedicated to the course of the people.
“Over 6,000 to say the least, especially youths have been engaged by the Government. This has no comparative analysis and unparalleled to what any Governor in the country is doing”.
Concluding the briefing, Ambassador Caleb Ekpenyong said, “Entrepreneurial development and industrialization has been another the Ayade administration quite acceptable and focus area for appreciation.
“Wike should leave Cross River alone. Governor Ben Ayade is visionary and has the capacity to lead the State to its desired shore of happiness. Wike off your microphone; Ayade is ok for Cross River State”.
