A week long intensive coding class organized by TechShack and sponsored by the Teacher Essien Ita Itam Educational Trust has ended in Calabar with attendees charged to apply extensively, the knowledge gathered.
Students were tutored on HTML, CSS+ and PHP to “solve everyday problems via technology.”
“Do not shelve the knowledge learnt here, apply it to solve everyday challenges like ease of payment for public utilities like the Cross River State water board among others,” one of TechShack’s lead, Jonathan Ugbal told the students shortly before they were presented with certificates of coding.
TechShack, an innovative and creative solutions hub based in Calabar, began operations in 2019 and it is hoped that those who enrolled for the second coding class will emerge with more skills and tools.
“There will be a follow up after the lectures round up to ensure that you put to good use, what you learnt and contribute your quota to the development of the society and to repay the good faith and gesture of the sponsor, the Teacher Essien Ita Itam foundation,” Mr. Ugbal added.
Two other leads, Jeremiah Archibong and Emmanuel Orok presented the certificates with Mr. Archibong urging the citizenry to emulate the Teacher Essien Ita Itam foundation’s gesture.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Mr. Essien Ukorebi, Cross River State Coordinator of Partners for Peace (P4P) in the Niger Delta said, the knowledge acquired will be applied judiciously in many areas as he thanked the organizers for the opportunity.
