UNICROSS Vice Chancellor Tours Campus Projects, Stress Timely Delivery

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Prof. Francisca Bassey, on Tuesday, 3rd March, 2026, conducted a thorough inspection of ongoing capital projects at the Calabar Campus, reinforcing Management’s commitment to quality assurance and timely project completion.

The tour began at the new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Block beside the Faculty of Engineering. Professor Bassey expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of workmanship, commending the contractor for adhering to specifications and timelines.

Once completed, the facility will feature advanced technology to bolster the University’s digital infrastructure, enhancing teaching, learning, and research in ICT-related disciplines.

She visited the University’s Professorial Office Block, where she raised concerns about the slow pace of work and finishing standards and urged the contractor to accelerate activities and ensure strict compliance with approved guidelines and contractual obligations.

The inspection was concluded at the Computer Science Block, currently under reconstruction. She lauded the structural extension design and the quality of materials used, reaffirming the Administration’s commitment to delivering durable and functional facilities to meet the growing needs of staff and students.

She was accompanied by the Director of Physical Planning, Mr. Evogor Eso, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Victor Ndifon, Acting Head of the Department of Software Engineering, Dr. Ofut Ogar, among others.
