Ayade Appoints New SUBEB Chair, More Media Aides

By CrossRiverWatch Admin

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has appointed a new head for the State Universal Basic Education Board.

Mr. Omaga Odo who served as Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party until last year is the new Chairman, a statement signed by Mr. Ayade’s spokesman, Christian Ita read.

The Governor also appointed more media aides to add to the nearly two dozen already in existence.

They are former lawmaker and communications expert, Cletus Obun and Mrs. Bukie Okangbe as Special Adviser, Strategic Communications and Senior Special Assistant on New Media.

As usual, the statement was bereft of any background details of the appointees.

The CRSUBEB has been without a head since Dr. Stephen Odey abandoned the post to seek election as the Senator representing Cross River north senatorial district.

Government House sources say Mr. Ayade was waiting for the outcome of the Elections Petition Tribunal to know whether to announce a replacement for Odey, his longstanding ally.
