At least nine person’s including a former member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Tom Agi were injured after they were hit by bullets fired from guns used by security officials attached to the defection rally of Alphonsus Ogar Eba, the Director General of the Cross River State Bureau of Due Process and Price Intelligence in his native Yala Local Government Area.
Mr. Eba is a strong ally of Governor Ben Ayade and decided to announce his defection from the People’s Democratic Party where he vied to be State Chairman last year until his principal, was ambushed into joining the All Progressives Congress last month, to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in style.
But, reports suggests all did not go as plan as some people were hit by bullets fired by police officers in the escort of Mr. Eba.
Asides Agi, the Yala APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mr. Richard Ogbeche, Lucy Ogbeche, Onah Linus and Austin Ogabor who is now amputated sustained gun wounds.
They were rushed to nearby hospitals by well wishers while Mr. Austin was amputated on Tuesday morning.
