Table Tennis star, Edem Offiong has secured Nigeria’s victory at the ongoing Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
Offiong beat Hungarian, Dora Madarasz 4-1 to progress into the second round of the women’s singles table tennis.
Edem won three straight sets, 11-8, 11-9 and 11-9 before Dora pulled one back 9-11 before Edem rounded up with 11-4.
A native of Bayside, Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State, Edem had carried out an outreach to get new stars and tackle crime shortly before departing for Tokyo.
