Organised Labour comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress, Trade Union Congress and other affiliate unions in Cross River State has rejected the payment of N25,000 by Directors to write Permanent Secretary examination.
Organised Labour (Action Committee) in a joint bulletin titled, ‘Attention: All Directors in State Service, payment of N25,000 by Directors purportedly for Permanent Secretaries examination’ advised against the payment of such money.
“Dear Comrade Directors, please, be informed that the Organized Labour in the State is against the payment of N25,000 or any other amount, purportedly for Permanent Secretaries examination.
“It has been brought to our knowledge that His Excellency, the Governor, had already approved N2 million for same purpose,” the bulletin seen on labour platform by journalists on Tuesday evening read.
Labour reminded the Directors that two Permanent Secretaries were recently appointed without any form of examination.
It added, “On this note, we hereby advise all Directors not to part with any amount of money and also refuse any form of examination, as this is not in consonance with the policies of His Excellency, the Governor.”
