The Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, Venatius Ikem Esq. has taken jibe at the immediate past Chairman, Inok Edim by rejecting the nickname “capacity Chairman.”
Ikem took to Facebook on Monday to inform his supporters and the public that he is rejecting the “capacity chairman” sobriquet.
“My greatest wish is that I no longer be addressed as “Capacity chairman”!
Please I beg of all PDP members! Just understand with me!,” Ikem wrote on Monday morning.
Sources close to Mr. Ikem say he had to make the post after a joke that his predecessor, Inok Edim was also referred to as “capacity chairman,” and was viewed as been ineffective having been planted by Governor Ben Ayade.
Edim who served as Commissioner for Infrastructure in Mr. Ayade’s first term, supervised the repainting and rebranding of the PDP secretariat to that of the All Progressives Congress after Mr. Ayade was railroaded into the party, leading to many of his appointees following suit.
