The remains of a one time Editor-in-Chief of the Nigerian Chronicle, Oqua Edim Itu will begin it’s final journey on Wednesday, 17th November 2021 reads obsequies released by the family.
Mr. Itu, also served as the Deputy President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors. He passed away on August 5, 2021 at the age of 68.
“It is with gratitude to God that we inform you of the demise of Elder HH Esinjo Ntufam PCC Oqua Edim Itu FNGE, FNISM, MJF, who slept in the Lord on August 5, 2021 at the age of 68. The funeral events are scheduled as follows:
“Wednesday 17 November, 2021, from 9:00AM – 5:00PM is visitation to the resident of the bereaved family,” read a statrement signed by his son, Charles Edim Itu.
It further disclosed that; “Thursday, 18 November, 2021, from 6:00PM is singsong service at Usang Iso Memorial Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Akim Qua Town parish, Calabar.
“Saturday, 20 November 2021, at 11:00AM is funeral service at Usang Iso Memorial Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Akim Qua parish, Calabar.”
A socialite, Mr. Itu was at separate times the past Governor for Nigeria’s district 404A and Multiple Council Chairperson of the Lions Clubs International.
