Over 160 Of 73, 000 Cameroonian Refugees Have Received Their Birth Certificates

Over 160 Cameroonian refugee children have received their birth certificates. The certificate is issued by the National Population Commission, with support from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Cross River and Benue States.

The information was released yesterday as part of the Cameroonian refugees’ in Nigeria operational update for the month of January 2022 by Relief Web.

The annual report stated further that, so far 73,000 Cameroonian refugee men, women, and children have been registered in  Cross River, Akwa-Ibom, Anambra, Benue, Enugu, and Taraba States.

UNHCR and the State Governments activated 18 COVID-19 testing sites and supplied test kits to these health facilities hosting Cameroonian refugees in Cross River State.
