Ongoing: Communal Clash Erupt Between Obubra And Ikom Communities

Information reaching our newsroom has it that there is an ongoing communal clash between Ochon in Obubra LGA and Alesi in Ikom LGA.

Sources says the Ikom-Ogoja highway is now blocked and commuters are taking refuge at Army checkpoint in Obubra main town.

A member in Ikom Local Government executive who wouldn’t want named confirms the incident and await official release from the Council.

Communal crisis has been an age long tradition amongst communities in Cross River State.

At the time of filing this report, security operatives made up of the Nigerian Army have arrived to quell the clash and the level of destruction cannot be ascertained.
