President Of Resident Doctors UCTH Inducted Into West African College Of Surgeons

Dr. John Egbe, the President of the Association of Resident Doctors, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital branch, has been inducted as a member of the West African College of Surgeons, Faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

The event was held in Monrovia, Liberia, at the 62nd Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference of the College on 25th March 2022.

Dr. Egbe was inducted into the college after completing the Junior Residency Training program of the body and subsequently passing the part 1 examinations of the West African College of Surgeons in the faculty of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Formed in 1960, the West African College of Surgeons works to promote education, training, examinations, and research in surgery in Africa and was the first body to organize surgical subspecialty training in the region. It trains surgical residents in member countries and awards diplomas of fellowship in surgery.
